After losing its first tournament game to Beekman, New Paltz ran off 11 straight wins to capture the
Southern District title in 2007.  New Paltz then swept the State tournament with a 5-0 record including 
a convincing 10-5 victory over heavily favored Clifton Park in the final game. 
At the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Springford, Pennsylvania, our boys posted a 1-3 record to finish the season. 
But the team played tough, competitive baseball and proved to be more than up to the task as 
evidenced by the fact that each loss was by only 2 runs.

New Paltz repeated as NYS champions in 2008 without suffering a single defeat in either the 
Southern District tournament (6-0) or the State tournament (6-0). 
This impressive streak culminated in a 6-2 win over Orange County rival New Windsor in the championship game. 
New Paltz moved on to the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament in Washington Township, New Jersey,
where it won its pool with a 4-1 record.  The team was rewarded for this showing by being seeded No. 1
among the Final Four contestants.  New Paltz finally lost in the Regional semi-final game to Brick, New Jersey,
which went on to win the Regional championship the next day.

in their quest for a third consecutive New York State championship.
